The INTERNETS Is Runnin' This Rap Ish

Joey, over at Straight Bangin' DOT COM, recently sent out an email to the who's-who of the blogosphere (me included, snitches!). He had a simple request: name your TOP 25 HIP-HOP albums of all time.

I had one rule: go with the gut. Eff the critics. Eff the albums that "have to be" on these lists. Eff boundaries. This is hip-hop! These are the albums that I STILL play on the regular. These are the albums that embody MY definition of HIP-HOP. How do YOU define hip-hop?
  • 1. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
  • 2. Ultramagnetic MCs - Critical Beatdown
  • 3. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
  • 4. NWA - Straight Outta Compton
  • 5. Dr. Dre - The Chronic
  • 6. Nas - Illmatic
  • 7. Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientele
  • 8. Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back

  • 16. Common Sense - Resurrection
  • 17. Snoop Doggy Dogg - Doggystyle
  • 18. Outkast - Aquemini
